Step 1: Download & Install mGBA
Visit the official mGBA website (mgba.io) and navigate to the Downloads section.
Download the installer or portable .zip version for your operating system (Windows, macOS, Linux, etc.).
Install or extract the file to a folder of your choice.
Step 2: Acquire the Pokémon Yellow ROM File
To play Pokémon Blue, you need the game file (a .gb ROM).
You can download the file here: POKEMON YELLOW VERSION
Transfer/dump the ROM file from your physical Pokémon Blue cartridge, or source a standard .gb ROM file.
Keep the .gb file in an accessible folder on your device (e.g., a dedicated ROMs folder in Documents).
Step 3: Configure Controls in mGBA
Before launching the game, set up your keyboard or controller:
Open mGBA.
Go to Tools → Settings.
Select Keyboard (or Controllers if you are using a gamepad like an Xbox/PlayStation controller).
Click on each action (A, B, Select, Start, D-Pad) and press the corresponding button on your keyboard or controller.
Click Apply / OK.
